Alternative outcome B: after assumed settlement, Cedar Bank sends a full EUR 1250.00 reversal of its erroneous customer credit-transfer instruction.

The MDR usage covers settled payments, including both credit-transfer and direct-debit reversal effects.

Can operate domestically or across borders, identifying the original payment with references alone or with additional original details.

The MDR does not require every reversal to be a follow-up to a payment message in the exchange. This does not remove the need to identify the original payment.

A permitted schema structure does not prove reversal eligibility, beneficiary consent where needed, recoverability, or successful posting.
